I'm over $90,000 in debt with student loans to the art institutes and I've seen lots of alleged lawsuits against them, and lately I've been getting many phone calls from 1800 numbers with recordings telling me, "Dear (my name), you are the victim of predatory student loan lending because of the art institutes call us now blahblah"
Are these legitimate? There is a slight glimmer of hope I could have these forgiven.. I left college 7 years ago because they kept demanding more and more money and I couldn't afford it. I now have $30,000 in default and $45,000 in deferment.
How can I research this? (I have made some attempt in paying these loans but I only bring home $11,000 a year because I am a cashier making minimum wage)
