So, I really like these loppers, but there is just this one planned-obsolescence problem - You can see the bit of rubber-plastic used as a backing plate for the gearing on the bottom handle. As expected, that bugger deforms almost immediately on large branches. The rest of the tool is actually quite rugged, though, and I've seen pretty good success just cramming a joist hanger in that spot... though it looks like crap and doesn't stay nice. Any ideas?
