Hi, I'm new to this sub, so hope I'm doing this right (and posting in the right place, this seemed to be the most relevant subreddit). My boyfriend and I just purchased a new king bed and we need to purchase a new comforter. He's a hot sleeper and he claims that most of the comforters that I pick out will make him too hot/sweaty. He will only go with a down comforter if we never use a duvet cover because he says that duvet covers make him hot (not sure how that is since it's such a thin layer of fabric, but I digress). I love down comforters, but I think a cover is necessary to a) protect the comforter and b) add a little style to the room. We have two black pets and to put a white blanket on our bed makes no sense. The last two comforters we've had have been essentially the exact same-- those reversible dorm-room style comforters that every college kid's mom buys them (like this) . I just want to be able to put something a little more grown-up looking on our bed. Any suggestions?
