Hi there BuyItForLife,

Reposted due to improper title format.

I have been looking to solve my footwear durability issue, which has lead me to multiple subreddits and places all over the web. I havent been able to find anything to satisfy my problem, so Im reaching out for help. Im hoping your collective expertise might help point me in the right direction.

I was born with a clubbed right foot. I had surgery when I was an infant to correct it, and it is mostly in working condition. There is some stiffness and mobility limitations, and it is about an inch and a half smaller than the other foot. Foot sizing and comfort are not really my issue, though. My problem is that when I walk, I pivot on my toes, which causes me to burn holes in the bottom of my shoes.

Most shoes last a few months before being worn through. Even my Redwing IR's had a hole by about 16 months in. Shoes made for people with clubbed feet are often for people in worse shape than me, and they tend not to be the nicest looking. My issue is only durability.

Some details on needs:

  • A heel helps to reduce the pivoting, and generally better for my foot
  • full ankle support helps to reduce discomfort a shank helps my misshapen foot to not mess the shoe around too much
  • a resole-able option would be needed for longterm use

Better if it can be a brand I can find in Canada (Toronto).

Money is largely not too much of an issue, as Ive been saving for a while, and would like to keep under 400 CAD (around 300USD) if I can.

What would you suggest?
