Hello! I would like to make parts for some small prototypes that I have in mind but I’m having problems finding the right material for this. The most common answer that I get is “just 3D print those!”. As much as I would like to, I don’t have access to a 3D printer (or other more expensive machinery). These prototypes are nothing too serious, just basic projects with some moving parts such as o solenoid engine or a small gear system. Also, I don’t mind if I have to spend too much time making each individual part. I value the sense of being able to modularize components and ease the process of upgrading parts in the future. For this, the only thing that comes to my mind is some sort of wood sheet (plywood?) that I can easily stack and glue, or shape with very basic tools. It should be cheap and somewhat sturdy.Any other accessible materials that you think that might work for this purpose? Please, let me know! Thanks! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2mmHvF8
