I left a company last year in early November (in NJ). I had about a weeks worth of sick time and another week of vacation. Is it a requirement that companies pay you what you have earned in PTO? I never asked for my PTO when I quit, and it's probably too late (5 months later) to ask for it now... But for future reference. Must a company pay you your PTO, or is that up to their discretion? When leaving a company, how do you collect your PTO?
Edit: is it too late to go back to said company and request my saved up PTO?
