I am curious what people consider a good percentage to dedicate to individual stock picking as part of a medium risk portfolio. I am sure there is no easy answer and things like retirement age and annual salary come into play, ie higher salary without living lavishly could mean a greater percentage dedicated to individual stocks. So I will throw out a theoretical $200k per year salary. I was thinking 10%.
