Hey everyone.
I've always been on the minimalist side of things. I keep what I use and I rarely try and get more, but I really want to move to my favorite city and get the job I like, I want to get some perspective.
I'm going to be a paramedic, and will probably be earning around $30k per year. I love the work, and I write music in my free time and I want those two things to be what I do, but I also want to move from Virginia to Oregon because I love Oregon the most out of anywhere I've ever been.
Will $30k get you far there? I assume Portland is the more expensive part of the state. I want to live in the city. I live near Washington DC and $30k barely gets you a box in an alleyway in DC, and my parents earn a good 6 figures each so I don't really live the simplest lifestyle yet.
