Then who will these firms sell products and services to?
We're seeing more wealth amass at the very top. Corporate profits have skyrocketed. Automation is causing a rise in populism and nationalism. Workers in the middle are being squeezed.
But what happens at the end of the road, when the producers of services and products have a declining source of buyers? For a company, it all starts at the top - sales drive growth and income. If soon, more and more people get pushed to one end of the spectrum, what will happen?
Had an interesting conversation with an economist about this. It was his big concern.
