I understand this is against the guidelines, but I am not really sure where else to say this. I'm Jack and I have been a craftsman for over 10 years. Started when I was 7, just holding the hammer for my dad when he was in carpentry. I learned all I know from him.As a skilled craftsman, and being only 17, I have nothing more to say than, I am so proud of all of you. Woodworking specifically has been my entire life. Working with other materials too. I now make musical instruments (like violins and violas) as well as having my own cosplay prop business. It's not about making money, it's about doing something, and then looking at it and say, "I built that." It's a skilled trade, and you're all learning that trade. To pass it onto generations like me, who needs knowledge like this. And what you are all doing is not some simple "DIY" stuff. Most of what I've seen if not ALL on here is true genuine craftsmanship. So? don't call yourself a "DIYer". You can, there's nothing wrong with that. But, I think it's safe to say that You are a craftsman. Welcome to the trade! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2m6kE0o
