I spend way too much time online, but since I'm such a privacy freak, and I don't want to pay for a VPN, I am thinking of only using my computer for work. Yes, a huge change, but it would force me out of this house and make me do things I need to do instead of cruising around on Reddit for hours.
I've seriously in the past thought about disconnecting my internet and working from the library, but that isn't really feasible for me, because of how I work and the strange nature of how and when I get my work. For example, I have one client that drops work at 6 a.m., and the library doesn't open until 9:30.
Anyway, I don't want my ISP selling ads based on what I do and where I go online. If they can sell that info to whoever they want, then they can sell it to insurance companies, who can jack up your premiums or deny you coverage, or they can sell it to corporations who can deny you a job.
I'd rather just go back to living a real, in-person life where I have to actually go out and MEET people. I'm always saying that I don't have any real-life friends, but I never leave the house except to go grocery shopping or to doctors, so how can I make them?
Anyway, I think this is a fine time to cut back on my internet time and get back to simple ways of enjoying myself.
