Hello all, Here are the basics about me. Age 31 Income $70,500 No debt except mortgage (15 year, 2.625%, $152,000) Total household income is $96,000

My wife and I recently found out she is expecting, which is great. I would love for her to be able to stay home with the child, but that would make things pretty tight. I'm entertaining a thought, and I'm not sure I'm real serious about it but thought I would see what others thought.

My total retirement investments are $185,000 right now. I have contributed $62,000 to my RothIRA so far. I have $53,000 in cash in a savings account. How stupid would it be to throw $100,000 between the Roth contributions and the cash at my mortgage and pay off my house in the next 1.5 years so my wife could stay at home with kids and things wouldn't be tight financially and we could start contributing more towards retirement again.

Anyway, thanks in advance.
