Back in December, I went to the ER in the state of Iowa. I had two tests administered for that visit. They asked to run a series of other tests, which I explicitly denied on the grounds it would cost too much.
Fast forward a month, I receive a hospital bill for thousands of dollars. After requesting an itemized bill, it turns out the ER ran the series of tests I didn't authorize. I do not have the funds to pay off the bill or to make the monthly minimums on their payment plan.
I've contacted the Office of Patient Experience. They refused to adjust the charges. What other options do I have?
