Fiance and I (+ our dog & cat) are in the market for a house. We've viewed a few so far - the most recent being an 1100 sq. foot 2 story house. It felt really small - 550 sq. ft per floor made things feel cramped and closed off.

We're viewing another house today that's a 920 sq. ft bungalow. 3 bed 1 bath - reno'd top to bottom and move-in ready. Nice big fenced in backyard, new deck, and an unfinished basement for storage. At only 920 sq. ft I'm thinking about not evening going to see it, though. The price is right, great location, and property taxes are low but I can't get over the sq. footage.

For homeowners - what's a good sq footage to start with?
