My girlfriend and I both working in retail selling cell phones...at the same store. And not in the best part of town. It's a decent job with full benefits, 401k, that pays well for us who have no degrees or experience in a lot of places. It pays well but she is part time and I am full time. I get paid about 2.1k/month and she gets paid about 1.3k/month depending on our commission. Our expenses are just -food -rent is 500 between both of us -car payment for her at 280 -insurance which is 200 -my tv which is 50/month -smaller bills like electricity and internet usually less than 150 in total We can't stand our jobs anymore due to our always changing work schedules/workplace drama/soul draining work/downright disgusting customers. The job feels like it has started to affect our day to day attitude and outlook on people. We dread being at work when we're not at work. We need a change and right now the only thing we can think of is Technical college(she's doing cosmetology and I'm doing programming) Thing is we need to move by September and instead of paying 500 we are losing all 3 of our roommates so now we need to look for 1 bedroom. The plan right now is to save 3k by august 31st. Anyway I just wanted to know what would be my best course of action here? Stay the course in my shitty retail job until she can finish school and then when she has a consistent full time job, I can move to part time and start my school? I'm only 20 but goddamn I'm stressing.
