As the title says, I found out today that someone has been using my identity. I'm a 19 year old college student and just started applying for student credit cards today but was shocked when I was immediately denied by all of them. After doing my annual credit report for the first time (I know I should have done it sooner, but everyone thinks identity theft won't happen to them) I found out that I've had at least 3 credit cards and an auto loan in my name since 2011. Obviously it should be pretty easy to prove it wasn't me, as I was 13 when these things were put under my identity, but I'm unsure of the proper steps to take to correct this. Also, are there any permanent negative consequences for me? I am going to need an apartment, student loans, and maybe a car soon and I can't very well be a good adult if someone has ruined my credit history. Any advice is appreciated. I've done some googling but I'm still kind of overwhelmed and I'm completely lost.
TL:DR: Identity been stolen since 2011, have no idea how to fix it. Please help
