So specifically on travel (not motels or hotels I'm probably going to stay at the event hotel for this trip due to convenience) what is the best ways to save money on a trip? Specifically I'm going from California to Iowa and would love to save as much on airfare as I can (I have my own laptop and I'm ok being cramped if it saves me a couple hundred.) I have some money in Southwest that I "have" to use before April or I lose it (if it's cheaper to use another company than the remaining bill I'd love to do that instead, I'm not worried about the amount saved it's from a canceled trip because family happens.) So what can I do?
