I know it specifically asks if you were married on December 31st, and we were, however I found out that my ex-husband filed as single. If I file "single" as well, will this cause a problem? Should I go ahead and file as married but separate? I don't speak with him anymore and don't have access to any of his income information, so I won't be able to fill that in if it asks for it. I don't even know if I can get his SS#. I don't want to be a bitch to try to make things difficult just ti get more money out of him, but I'm not sure what the right thing is to do here. It will be difficult to get his information from him as I have no contact with him at all. What should I do?
