Have a bit of a complicated situation. My sister, who is disabled, and on Social Security Disability, is in CC debt to the tune of $7,000. My father, brother and myself are all trying to help, but we're somewhat at a loss of where to start. She looked into declaring bankruptcy, but said she doesn't have enough debt (she'd need $9,000 - I don't know if this is true or not). She worked out her budget, and it comes out to about $1,100 a month, but she gets $800. She has no employment income (she has multiple severe health issues). She currently lives in an apartment owned by my brother, who often carries her rent for her ($250), but he's barely above the poverty line himself, if he even is (and has a 10 year old son). Are there any resources for re mediating credit card debt for these kind of situations?

My apologies if this sounds rambling, but I don't even know where to start. It's very frazzling to me becuase my sister is threatening suicide over $7,000 dollars, which I can't wrap my head around. She's also in constant and considerable pain due to her myriad medical conditions, which contributes to her feelings of hopelessness and feeling trapped. I'd really like to help her, and I'm looking for resources.
