A few years back my wife and I moved into our home with a cute deck but gaudy railing. Structurally it's solid, but in replacing what was there I'm kinda clueless. I want to put in a chunk of 4x4 to match the existing ends that are part of my fence.My question is, can someone advise on how to get this done? Could I attach the the cut section of 4x4 to the deck with a bracket: and if so what kind? Or just use carriage bolts?
