Always liked going into some smaller chinese shops to buy noodles and crockery because English supermarkets have really low quality/high cost for rice/noodles/sauces and stuff. But actually looked into all the chinese markets in my city. Went to some more expensive ones thinking that was the same price they all are, but finally looked at a large-scale market today and found some crazy gems.

I work as a chef, and usually pay £20-40 for chef whites, found them on offer even up to XXL in size for £6!

Rice was the same price for a 7kg bag as a 500g packet would be in tesco.

and although some things like snacks and soft drinks were the same price. things like whole roast ducks were only £15, frozen prawns were a fractio of the price compared to even cheaper shops like Aldi,

and kitchen equipment like rice cookers, slow cookers, electric steamers, meat grinders, electric pasta machines, plates, cutlery(mainly spoons and chopsticks) were all about half of what you'd expect to buy in even cheaper stores. Like a rice cooker for £16, plug in induction hob for £20, deep fat friers for £20, meat grinders £25. crazy.

Good for stocking up your kitchen if you have a lot of freezer space and room for equipment.
