Anyone seen this documentary? On Netflix now, watched it last night.
It's the guy who is Burt of Burt's Bees. In the end, worth millions, but lived in a converted chicken coop, no running hot water (heated on wood stove), no electricity, on farm, no TV for 40 years, no internet. Just living simple. Wants vs. needs. Losing a lot of money didn't change him. Getting $4MM didn't change him at all. Loved being away from people, loved his dog, loved to stay home on farm. Died a couple of years ago at 80.
His brother said he just never changed for 50 years. Maybe he had Aspergers or something, regardless, wonderful documentary, want to live simple like that (can't at the moment).
I was wondering what others thought about it. Wife and I plan to homestead and I wouldn't mind being simple guy like this (but married). I have everything I need, despite owning a very old van, two old bikes (27 and 40 years old) and a 9 year old laptop. The stuff runs and no need to replace. I could live out of a backpack, honestly.
