Hey guys and gals!
I live with my girlfriend and recently I've been trying to cut down on the amount of excess spending I do. I thought the best way to do it is choosing one area of my life at a time to work on so that it feels more like a project than a task.
First up I worked on how I spend on food. I've always loved cooking so this was actually fairly easy to do. Less money on fast food, bit more prep work, and clever planning for meals sorted this out. My girlfriend and I work jobs which have different hours so cooking big positions and saving them saves us a lot of trouble and money. Generally I'm down to making a mealnfor around £10 and getting 4 servings from it.
I then started working on stuff I use for entertainment and found boardgames to be perfect for this. A once off purchase means my girlfriend and I have something we can play over and over again while relaxing in the apartment.
The next part I want to work on is spending on alcohol and nights out and this is where I need tips. Have you fine people got any tips on the best way to drink frugally?
Also, are there any particular areas you've found that when you change your spending habits on them it made a noticible difference?
