Hi all,

I have an AMEX for the last six years. In the last three months, there has been a breakout of fraudulent charges on the card. They all originate from the Google Play store from the developer Peak Games.

I get about 10 charges per week (each $1-15). I file disputes each weekend and I win every case. However, it seems like it would be more effecient to just stop those transactions from hitting my card.

So I reached out to the Google Play fraud team with a series of fraudulent transaction IDs. They did not respond after multiple attempts.

I reached out the developer of the games. I got read receipts, but no responses.

I then talk to AMEX. They issued a new card but state they can't stop the transactions from hitting the old card number. So here I am with a fourth replacement, and it's the weekend so I'm filing disputes.

If I cancel the card and close my account, does that fully resolve me from my relationship with AMEX? It pains me to do so, as I have great credit history with them, but if they can't stop a simple issue, I don't think I have a choice.
