I've got an odd health issue where I really cannot handle any emotional stress, chemical stress or physical exertion. In short, it causes my neck to misalign and cuts off the flow of blood to my brain, rendering me mostly inoperable to all but vegetative staring at a tv until it goes back in.
About 6 months ago my dad kicked me out of his house and purchased a 1 year lease on an apartment for me without telling me. Although the building is disgusting and reeks of cigarettes, odd smells, and something chemical like formaldehyde. It was making me ill so I had to leave after 2 months -- though I still have it as a base to make food, shower, etc.
I've been living at my moms house for the past 2 months, but she is emotionally unstable and is only worsening my health. So I need to get out asap.
I'm waiting on apartment availability in a building I know is clean and suits my health needs well. Unfortunately, the wait might be another 3-6 months.
My question is what would be my best option for temporary housing? All I require is somewhere that has clean air, wifi, a bed, desk, and chair.
Dorm-style living availability is common in my area because there is a big university in my city. But due to my health problems, I don't think it would work out well to have roommates -especially college ones.
I've even been thinking about living in a van since it's spring now. By parking it outside my apartment building, putting a mattress in it, a small desk and my laptop. Then food and such will be made in my apartment. But that seems like a big project/commitment, especially when I already own a car.
I've looked at temporary non-college apartment rentals, but most are either 4 bedroom units with roommates who imply they do not want you not to be there all the time, or very expensive apartment rentals.
So does anyone have any advice on a temporary living situation for someone in between places who just needs a clean and calm environment for a few months?
