I work for a pet store and we are payed 8% commision on most sales. If we are not ringing up an average of 150 dollars an hour, we get paid 8 dollars per hour. If we do average at 150, we get 12 dollars or higher and higher depending on our sales. They have basically incentivized clocking out and continuing to work so that we can try to hit the 150 an hour average, otherwise cleaning/working when the store is closed, clocked in with no customers, drags down our average and drops us to the 8 dollar pay. I have found myself working countless extra hours without compensation. Is that acceptable for a job like this? They will also make us clock out and stack dog food/unload pallets etc. This is in Kansas if that makes any difference. Thankyou guys for reading and I look forward to the responses!
