We shut the heat off at our house at night and let the place get really cold. When I was working I would just heat the bedroom. So my morning routine was to get up, take a shower, dash back to the bedroom, get dressed and go. So I would only really heat my house for a few hours when I got home after work.

Nowadays when nature calls around 6:30 or 7 a.m. I take thirty seconds to light the wood stove. Then I go back to bed for an hour or two, snoozing and seeing what's up in the world on my tablet. And then get up around 9 to a roaring fire and a nice warm house.

So grateful I can shovel snow at my leisure rather than getting up early and rushing to get going.
