I married into one of those obnoxiously devout L.L. Bean families. My husband has four pairs of the Wicked Good slippers, everyone in his family owns those slippers, and this year, we gave the men in my family those slippers for Christmas.

I got my first pair 2 years ago(bright red), and I love them. This Christmas, my husband got me a second pair in grey. The grey ones are aging far faster than their red siblings; the shearling is far more matted and it's already developing bald spots inside in the ball-of-foot zone.

My husband's 4yo and 6yo pairs have bald spots, but I expect that for a 6yo pair, not a 60-day pair...

BIFL users, is this normal wear and tear? Should I utilize the LL Bean return policy? I don't want to waste a good product if I'm just going to see the same results in May.
