My wife and I had a daughter in October 2015. Apparently, when we filed our 2015 taxes we ended up paying a $296 penalty because she didn't have medical coverage from January through September, when she didn't yet exist.
We are covered by Tricare, and her coverage started immediately upon birth. We only noticed the error this year and would like to amend last year's taxes, but have no idea where to start. I feel like this should be an easy fix, but haven't been able to find anything helpful. Is there someone here that can point me in the right direction?
