We have a 9 month lease staring SEP 9. It's a two bedroom apartment. I have two roommates and they are a couple, only one of them is legal so he is on the lease and his gf is not, but stays there and pays rent. Before we signed the lease we all needed a place to stay and she didn't have money, but said she could pay me in two weeks after I paid the first month of rent to get us in. She never paid me in full and would rather buy me a little bit of food and keep discounting it. Get me gas when she could, etc. Really inconveniencing me because I am a full-time student and work part-time. She said they would pay 850 every month and me 450, plus bills. She even said she could pay more and me less sometimes to help me out because she knew my situation. All of this was talked about and agreed to. December comes and my gf needs a place to stay for 2 weeks. So obviously I said she can stay with me. And that I would pay for her being there. My roommate, however, decided she would charge me 850 for rent that month and said I can either pay that or she wouldn't pay anything. Her bf doesn't care about his credit. But I don't want to hurt my mom's credit, so I paid. Next month comes around, she wants to charge me 600, or else she won't pay anything. She's the kind of person to just say "either pay that or I won't pay anything. End of discussion". Is there anything I can do to kick them off the lease legally since they are taking advantage of the fact that they can hurt my mom's credit to make me pay more and more than what we all agreed to? Do I go straight to the police? What can I do, Reddit? Please help, I'm desperate and running out of money :(
