I have 45k sitting in my Oregon PERS IAP (individual contribution account). I've seen $4518 of growth in the last 3 years. I have to leave the money sit in PERS in order to be eligible for the OPSRP Pension in addition to my IAP distribution. Pension is estimated at approx $550 a month, at age 65.
I am no longer able to contribute to this fund as I am no longer PERS eligible.
I feel like I would be better served to take this money and reinvest.
Any thoughts on this? I am currently 40. We have a couple other retirement funds and investment homes.
Thanks in advance.
edit: after further research.. it looks like it may just have been an off couple years for the IAP funds crediting rates
