I'm a forestry major at a large university in the east. I absolutely love the major and can't wait to get out into the field. It may not come as a shock, but forestry has a pretty abysmal average starting salary, $35k-40k and is slow to promote many times. I'd like to know how to efficiently pay back about $15k-20k in loans at 4% and not starve to death. I'm pretty frugal as is, and my parents are very supportive, but I'd like to be completely independent out the gate. Any advice for finances the first 1 month - 1 year after college?
