In 2013 I worked for a firearm store and during that time I used my personal eBay and PayPal account to sell items in the store out of convenience. I know, now that I logically think about this it was a stupid idea to do so, neither the owner nor I saw this coming. PayPal reported the income to the IRS and now the IRS is hitting me with self employment taxes of nearly $10,000. I have sent documentation showing where the money was transferred from my PayPal account to the owners PayPal account but they are still saying it is considered self employment. Is there anything I can do here or am I screwed? Owner isn't really being of much help either. The money shows a trail of where it went though, any ideas how I can avoid this penalty? As I don't have that kind of money laying around. Thank you PF
