I got about 7000 dollars in grant money for this term and recently got a text that my account had been created at Bank of America? I have no bank accounts and am worried by dad opened one in my name. We have the same name, and if he uses it to open one in my name he can access my recent grant money if it's tied to my ss number and automatically deposited to that account right??? I hope I'm not just worried over nothing because that would suck, but if I'm correct, and my dad has a history of doing this type of shady shit, can I get the money back if he spends it? How can I check the Bank of America account with just my phone number? For all I know the text could be from a random number but it says Bank of America in the number thing of the phone screen so idk. Am I being over anxious or what. Sorry if this sounds like rambling or irrational worrying.
I'm 20 and he's 50, he is a career criminal.
Pretty much want to figure out if an account at Bank of America exists in my likeness at all down to my phone number. Any red flag caught early is very important.
