I was under the impression I would be a general contractor since my employment there was always meant to be temporary. I was making good money but couldn't believe my paychecks were almost cut in half to due to tax. It was my first time making serious money. Anyway I recently got my W-2 to file my taxes and almost $1000 was withheld for the company's retirement fund. Management tells me there is no way to recoup these funds since I was considered a regular employee. Sounds like I will never see the money. Do I have a leg to stand on and how can I avoid situations like this again. I believe the retirement fund is the law but I don't plan on working any one place for longer than a few years in the near future. Is that just the way she goes?
