Hi Reddit community! I'm getting really desperate to sell a car and I was hoping to find help here.
It's a 1999 Mazda 626. 177k V6 automatic, FWD. I'm the 2nd owner and I've had it since 2005, when I graduated high school. Admittedly I didn't take the best care of it, like driving it past it's oil change due date and repairing damages as they would come. So now I'm looking at quite the beater that I don't want to put a lot of repairs into.
Here are the good and bad of the car.
Bad:
Small chunk of the bumper was taken out on the left side corner from hitting a coyote or wolf. Trunk doesn't like to close without forcing the HECK out of it in the winter due to someone closing it too hard--during the summer it is no issue. Broken passenger side mirror--vehicle's body is undamaged--just the mirror is broken. Flopping over cloth panel on one back door. No driver side sun visor. Driver's seat leather has torn, small-medium tear in corner of backseat. Will need new tires. The worst of it: it does not want to drive over 55mph, so no highway driving. It will, but the 'check engine' light will flash.
Good: New alternator, water pump and coolant reservoir (overheated one time) in May 2015. Perfect working heater and A/C. All lights and electric work (power sun roof, power driver seat, power windows and locks, alarm system, CD player with BOSE sound system) Majority of leather seats are in good condition. Locking gas tank with key. Spare tire. Automatic headlights, all lights in working condition.
I'm asking $950. I could fix things like the flopped over panel and get some new-used tires, but things like replacing the visor and fixing the mirror intimidate me. I'm not the handiest person, to be honest.
