Hello PF! I'm a 19 yo male. I was in a rough patch a while back ago and I barely had enough money to resolve it. I ended up having no lunch for the entire week after which sucked. I want to save money so I can not worry as much as I do. Problem is, I can't figure out how to go on about it.

I have been using the link above to have a solid guideline, except I can not for the life of me figure out my monthly salary. I work in construction so it's very hard to find out my hours at all since it varies on the weather. One week could be all sunshine at 60 hours, but another week it might rain and we would get 20 hours or none at all!

I am also using the mint app so I can kind of get an idea on spending, however I don't know how to manage it yet. Also, sidenote, I have 654 credit... but I've never used a credit card. In the app, it's rated as "good" and all payments are paid on time, leaving a 100% rating. 70% percentage is considered bad and to drop it down to 30%. Is this bad? I know my parents are using it.

Lastly before I have to work, my goals. I don't have an e-fund. Well, I do technically. $800 cash that I keep with my mom. I was told to put in a savings account and never touch it unless for a dire emergency, but I would like to have 6 months of expenses and after that, use the money to travel a bit. I don't think it matters if I put my banks name on here, right? nope. Just checked. My bank is Woodforest if it makes a difference.

Thank you so much guys for reading and helping me! I hope to strive for a better life just like you all!
