Hey folks,
I've used YNAB for a while now and I love what it's done to help me save money and know where it's going. At this point, it's clear that the area where I can save the most is by spending less on groceries.
My question is, does anyone have tips for how to get a hold of what you're spending on groceries and analyzing? For example, with YNAB, I categorize each purchase into a category and later I can see where it went. But this isn't easy with grocery receipts, where each line item is a different category.
How does r/frugal get a better understanding of their grocery bills? Do you frequently do a calorie per dollar calculation, or just sometimes? I've also seen people use 'rules', like simply don't buy any beverages, and I do stuff like that.
Thanks!
