Built a new house too close to the freeway and can hear too much noise at night. Windows are cheap builders grade (Alside). Exterior walls are 2x6 heavily insulated with hardieboard on the outside and 1/2 drywall on the inside. We also have real wood 4" plantation shutters - those didn't help at all. Sales people all tell me that their windows or glass panels or magnetic inserts will help a lot, but no one will make any serious promises.Question: How can I know how much of a difference replacing my windows will make without forking out the cash? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2musy4k
