The ABA produces a quarterly report on credit card usage in the US that I think is interesting. For example 43.3% are Revolvers (carry a balance), 29.2% Transactors (pay in full each month) and 27.5% of all cards are dormant. 84 million new card account were issued in 2Q2016 with a total of 346 million open cards. Average outstanding balance is 5.3% of disposable income.
