Our Aldi just opened not too long ago, and I've only been there a few times. I was very happy with some of their prices, but I went back today and WOW! They have gone up A LOT! Examples: block cheese was $1.49 now $1.89 (27% increase), bagged pecan pieces was $3.99 now $4.99 (25% increase). Noticed produce is more expensive now too, and every week, I see more non-food items advertised than food items. They still have some good buys, don't get me wrong, but this is a huge increase for a new store.
