I didn't get a lot of sleep last night so maybe I'm just missing something here. I know that dividends and stock splits will make the historical close price of a stock go down as it's adjusted over time, but other than a reverse stock split, what would make that historical close price on a specific date increase? Example: I was looking at a spreadsheet I made last April where I input the adjusted close of GE for 3/28/2012 @ $17.46. When I pull it today (from multiple sources) it shows as $20.01 for that date. What am I missing or not considering? Thanks for the help.
