I purchased a Chromebook for £180 a few years ago for its excellent value and portability was a large priority due to me moving regularly. Since then I've become a bit more stable and needed something with a bit more power and to run Lightroom.
I looked around on the high street websites and the best deal seemed to be around £300+ for what I was after so I did what I always do and went on eBay. Filtering through there seems to be many resellers of ex-business use laptops so I contacted one through a facebook hardware selling group who lived near me and went to view one.
Turns out his company has a contract to recycle/ dispose of companies technologies and they can buy them at a small price to resell. The laptop was in excellent condition and had decent specs (2nd gen i5, 4gb ram, 500gb HDD and a 14" screen at 1600x900), he was selling them for £150 on eBay but because we were outside of that the price was £120.
If you're needing to upgrade a computer/ laptop I would recommend checking the refurbished route out too, as I got a relatively fast computer for less than half the price it would have cost new.
