We had a power surge in my home this morning when lightning struck nearby. Part of my house is without power, and most of my electronics are fried. Electricians can't come out until Thursday. I don't know what's covered by insurance yet since they're closed today. But I'm not stressing because I've got the emergency fund for things like this if they don't cover. So thank you, r/personalfinance, for stressing the importance of building (and not touching!) an emergency fund.
