I was re-reading "Radical Homemaking" which I now find to be a bit trite but it got me thinking about simple homemaking.

Im not a minimalist, but I am a functionalist in that I like everything to serve a purpose, even if that purpose is to look nice and make the room feel more homey (art) so that my mind can be more at ease.

Homemaking, however, is a different story. Lately I've been feeling overwhelmed by all the chores that go into maintaining a home, which for me is a one bedroom apartment shared with my girlfriend.

It feels like there's always a chore to be done, a project to be finished, a call to the landlord or super to be made, work-week lunches to be prepped, etc.

Does anyone have any stories about how they simplified their homemaking and home maintenance?
