Went to the San Francisco Premium Outlets* for the first time yesterday on my day off. Review/deals PSA for those interested in checking out the MLK Weekend sales. Happy shopping!
Stores I remember stopping in (alphabetically):
American Eagle Outfitters - Nothing great. Several sales racks in the back. A few pairs of wedge sole Red Wing look-alike boots in tan leather (maybe a smooth leather version of these?) for $20 as well as Duck Boots for $20. Brown leather high top sneakers, sorta CP Achilles look-alikes but with crappy leather for $20.
Amorino Gelato - didn't stop here, but did a double take. It was my favorite gelato place in Paris when I went ~10 years ago, apparently they're now an international chain.
Banana Republic Factory - Pretty disappointing. They did have some decent-looking suede captoe bluchers in brown and navy for $50 in the front corner near the registers. Usually BR shoes look like crap, but these lasts were pretty attractive IMO.
Bass - Nothing noteworthy
Bloomingdales - Nothing noteworthy
Brooks Brothers - Pretty disappointing. 2 suits for $599 which sounds like a good deal, but they're not 100% wool. There was a rack of sample sale stuff if you're size M, could be good finds there. Also some 70% off boys stuff if you can fit. Honestly they had better prices during their online sale though.
Carter's - Okay deals on baby clothes, $3-4 per piece IIRC
Clarks - Nothing noteworthy. Buy 1 get 1 for $10 promotion on clearance items. Some CDBs and Bushacre IIs.
Cole Haan - Nothing noteworthy
Ermenegildo Zegna - Unfortunately I didn't make it in there
Express - Additional 50% off clearance racks in the middle. Got a couple pairs of photographer pants in burgundy and medium brown for $15 each. They're kind of in between canvas/duck cloth and chinos... a little thin, and a little textured/scratchy, but hopefully they should hold up with infrequent wear.
Gap Factory - Pretty disappointing. Small selection.
Hanna Andersson - 40% off expensive organic baby clothing still equals expensive organic baby clothing
J.Crew Factory - Decent amount on sales racks. I got a couple of plaid shirts for $10 and $15 (final sale). I had a gift card, and they gave me $9.72 change in cash, which was nice (not sure if that's their policy if <$10 remains on a GC or what). They also had two pairs of mainline Plain Toe Kenton Boots in Burnished Tobacco pull-up leather for $75 in sizes 11 and 12.
Kate Spade New York - Good holiday sale (happens on holiday weekends I think, so a handful of times per year). 60% off plus an additional 20% off some things. Wife got a large diaper bag originally $350 for $112.
Levis - Nothing noteworthy
Neiman Marcus Last Call - Nothing noteworthy
Rag & Bone - Wife got some jeans, I didn't go in
Saks Off 5th - Several pairs of first and seconds quality Allen Edmonds, all priced at $209. 6th Avenue brogues in black and walnut, Stuttgart wingtips in black and walnut, Kenilworth in brown. Now that I'm checking, basically the same prices/selection as Nordstrom Rack online.
Superdry - Nothing noteworthy
Tod's - Some sale shoes for $199 I think.
Tory Burch - Dunno, wife was excited about this
Overall, about what I was expecting: pretty good stores, new amenities, luckily not so crowded since it was a Friday. Parking can be a pain on weekends, so go early if you can. If you're in the South Bay, The Great Mall has most of the same stores (plus Uniqlo and Burlington CF), so I don't really need to go back to Livermore. I've heard Gilroy has similar stores too but is more spread out, but I've never been there.
*"San Francisco Premium Outlets" located 40 miles away from SF lol. But then again, the Niners play in Santa Clara now so...
