I'll be moving out soon and I'd like to get a good quality kitchen knife. I know it's likely we'll be getting a kmart knife set too, but I want at least one great knife in my arsenal.
I like to chop up a lot of veggies and the only meat I really cut up is chicken (thigh or breast, no bones). I want something that will last me a long time and that is reliable and sharp.
I like the look of damascus knives but I've been told they're mostly cosmetic and there are cheaper knives of similar quality, that are also easier to sharpen.
I'm small and female, if that makes any difference to the size of the knife.
