November/December of 2015 I got some dental work done, and then in January 2016 I turned 26 and was no longer covered under my parent's health insurance. No biggie, just gonna start getting my employers health insurance instead. A few months ago I realized that I was past due for a check up, went back to the same dentist, got some crowns put in, it's all good. Today I found out that I because I didn't mention that my insurance had changed from Metlife (under my parent's insurance) to Aetna (my employers' insurance), I now owe $855 for the dental work I had done.

Evidently, because it had been about a year since I had been to the dentist, I forgot that my insurance had changed and didn't update it until they called my a few days ago because it had expired as of 12/31. Don't be like me, make sure your ducks are in a row before you get work done!
