I legally had my first and last name changed a few months ago and worked at two places prior to doing so, but after tax season of that year. Then I moved twice. With that said, do I have to call up every single place to get that changed (which I am already to get them mailed to the right address) or do I leave the name/address because my social security number is still the same?
It's not my first time filing taxes but my first time doing it where I changed my name and worked at places with my old name being listed after tax season, so I'm pretty confused on what to do and how I'll even go about it with W2s being sent out/about to be.
Like I just got one from Target. I don't exactly remember working a lot for them this year but I got it and it's under my old name. Thankfully it's emailed because I had moved three times since living at the address listed and the particular place has issues giving out mail, so I wouldn't have gotten it back until school long ended. But either way, it has both the wrong name and address and I don't know if it's okay to use or if I should call up the corporation and have it all corrected. The social security number is correct, however, and I don't know if that's all that matters or if the rest needs to match up. Thats where my confusion is.
