I don't know where to start but I'll try to keep it short and sweet. Didn't know whether to post this in PF or somewhere else, not sure what sub reddit would've sufficed
I've got a crazy family with toxic depressing personalities and even though I've tried for many years (as have they) to try and fix things, it's just time for me to leave because I've spent ridiculous amounts of money, time and effort just to go back to square one with them. They refuse to change and all they do is fight and scream at each other, so I've made the (although difficult) decision to leave home and just do my own thing and focus on my future.
I've saved up around $6000 from working the past year and other odd jobs including selling my own stuff on eBay. Rent in this city for a decent studio apartment is anywhere between $280-400 a week and I'm currently unemployed as to much stress from the family has gotten to me recently and I couldn't maintain it.
I'm severely depressed whether it be chemically or due to my environment but I know it will all change once I get my own headspace and think clearly.. I'm dabbling in a occasional drug abuse but not to the point where I'm losing control, but I'm also getting tired of it and just want a normal life, working a normal job with normal friends and yeah
I'm just kind of stuck as I have nowhere and no one to turn to for personal advice.. I've been wanting to go to see a cognitive therpaist but I just don't see the motivation and I'm feeling more hopeless as the days go on. My only option its seems is to get out of my family situation to increase the general value of my life.
Or is that a bad idea and should I continue to live at my families house? It's only $100 a week but there is constant screaming, yelling and anxiious riddled vibes constantly. I'm always on the verge on the panic attack.
or do I just pack up my bags and leave and just stick it out regardless of what happens? Thanks guys.. really need help on this one.
I'm 22 years old
EDIT: what I mean by continuing to live at my families house, is that the rent is cheap and I'm able to save more money
